Introduction
One of the biggest challenges within the electrification of mining is to power heavy-duty vehicles operating in harsh conditions. ENRX has developed an innovative modular power transfer system that wirelessly charges the batteries of underground mining vehicles, fixed or in motion. The system eliminates the range limitations and maintenance problems associated with trailing cables and is exceptionally safe in damp or fire-prone environments. Induction heating brings value in terms of improving equipment and process performance.

Inductive power transfer systems for conveyors in open pit mining are valuable because they allow for efficient power transfer to the conveyor belt, increasing production and reducing operational costs. The system eliminates the need for costly and sometimes unreliable electrical wiring. It offers a high level of safety, as the power is transmitted through an air gap in the system, eliminating the risk of shock or electrocution.

The ENRX system uses a process called inductive charging. Electricity passes through wire coils in the road plates, generating a magnetic field. This field induces a voltage across coils in the vehicle plates, and the batteries are charged.

The unique patterned ENRX Electric Roadway technology works through magnetic inductive power transfer. Energy flows from the pre-assembled ground winding coils to a receiver pad under the vehicle through electromagnetic induction.
